Breaking Up

Hi all, who knew working near my pond would really break me up so much. On Sunday the 9th of October I was doing a little adjustment work beside my pond before we headed out to my daughters for a great thanksgiving dinner. Then it happened. I slipped on a piece of rubber mat and fell backward on to a large bolder, breaking two ribs. I don't know when I have felt more pain even with child birth there are short breaks of relief before the next onslaught of pain and you know there will be an end to it all. After more than 5 hours of waiting at the emergency dept. with no relief at all, I was admitted and injected with some miracle drug that gave me hope that the pain would soon let up. No little gift of joy presented at the end of it though. The only floor with beds available was the maternity ward and I was lucky for it as no expectant moms had checked in. I spent the next week being tended to by a team of very sweet and gentle nurses. They are such wonderful creatures and I can't thank them enough for all they did for me.

Recovery is a slow and still painful process but I feel I am almost ready to get back to work. I have missed it. I will likely still be wincing for a while yet, didn't realize how long it takes for ribs to heal. My body doesn't hesitate to let me know when I over do it and neither does Jack. A few more weeks and I think I'll be up and running. At my age, who am I kidding!!!

Classes are set to resume on November 15th at 10 a.m. Beginner Basics Level 1; Advanced Level 4 completion on the 16th at 6:30 pm; and another BB Level 1 on the 17th at 6:30 p.m.

Check the website for information on a few fun, Holiday Min classes in early December.

In January of the New Year, the first two Serger classes are scheduled (5th and 18th) and are filling up quickly.

I promised bra making classes in the new year but need to get through the serger sessions first.

A wait list has started for those.

With Christmas just around the corner, and shopping under way, I am making Gift Certificates for Private Sessions and Sewing Lessons available again this year. Call or email.

We will start putting up our light display soon to be ready for December 1. Jack freezes his butt off outside and I cover everything inside with the fire all aglow. It is tradition! I hope you will come by and say hello, it's been a while, or drive by and wave. That too is tradition!

Gotta love Christmas traditions.

I'd love to hear about some of yours. Drop me a line.....
